Masthead
The masthead of this magazine is 'Angels' which is presented with a white background. The use of the white background around the masthead could connote purity, gracefulness, elegance and well kept. As, angels are often associated with these qualities. The use of the colour pink and bold font in the masthead reinforces the idea that the magazine is mainly targeted at females aged 11-16. As, the colour pink is more of a feminine colour than masculine.
Slogan
Central/Main Image
The central/main image is in the center of the magazine which therefore makes it eye catching and engages the audience. This is supported through the use of direct address as well as unserious facial expressions which will attract young females. The main image also links to the coverline 'the rubbish situation is out of control so what can you do?' as the female in the picture is seen to look like she is asking a rhetorical question to the audience. Also, the term 'rubbish' links to the rubbish from the dustbin in the background.
Price
The price of the magazine is written in white bold font just above the masthead which not only makes it visible for the audience to see but also to show that the price is an important feature of the magazine.
Issue Date
The issue date is usually written in bold font on the front cover of a typical magazine next to or below the price of the magazine. However, on this magazine the issue date is written in bold black font just
below the 'contents' on the contents page. This is used to show the target audience that the magazine is current and up to date, hence why they would want to buy it.
House Style
The house style of the magazine is purple, black, white and pink. The colours pink and purple are typical feminine colours which therefore appeals to the target audience. Whereas, the colour white is used to represent 'Angels' which is the masthead of the magazine.
